Hypnosis / NLP FactsNeuro-Linguistic programming (NLP) and hypnosisNeuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP, is the science of how the brain codes learning and experience. This coding affects all communication and behavior. It affects how you learn and how you experience the world around you. It is a key to reaching goals and achieving excellence. It offers a paradigm of how the brain works (neuro), about how language interacts with the brain (linguistic). NLP is an effective proven vehicle for accelerated human change. Rather than using suggestions, we use the same thought patterns that are creating the problem. NLP in the hands of an experienced practitioner can be very effective. I utilize several NLP techniques in my practice.Medical relaxation a form of light hypnosis is a natural state of mind. Actually, it's the Alpha state of consciousness. We pass through the Alpha state as we fall asleep at night. And we pass through it again as we awaken in the morning. We also enter the Alpha state when we are imagining and daydreaming. We have all experienced road hypnosis before, arriving at our destination without remembering the drive. |

What hypnosis will feel like?
People in hypnosis experience a sense of well being and peace of mind. Close your eyes and take a deep breath in, and then slowly release your breath. That peaceful relaxing feeling is the same feeling you will experience during hypnosis. The hypnotic state is a very comfortable state in which the minds becomes "open" to positive concepts. Hypnosis is simply the deliberate use of the imagination, paralleled with strong focus and relaxation.

How hypnosis works:
Our minds function on two levels: the conscious and subconscious. The conscious mind is the part of your brain that is very logical; it analyzes everything, makes decisions, and thinks. The subconscious mind keeps records of all our memories and experiences as well as taking care of all the automatic functions of the body and mind, including the nervous system, which regulates breathing, blood circulation, and heart beat. It has stored every bit of information since birth. It is like a computer's hard drive. Most importantly, the subconscious mind stores and controls our habits.

Let's clear up some myths and misconceptions:
Some people are still scared at the thought of hypnosis because they assume that they will act against their will, become controlled, or reveal private information. Scenarios portrayed in films and television are fabrications meant merely for entertainments. It is very important that you understand that the people you see in stage hypnosis shows are exercising their control by volunteering to go up on stage. They know that it is an acceptable context in which they can let down their inhibitions and have fun making other people laugh.
Hypnosis has been accepted by the American Medical Association, and it is used in medicine, dentistry, professional sports, education, and law enforcement. Hypnosis is completely safe; you are aware and in control. You can't be made to do something against your will. Hypnosis is merely a state of physical relaxation and heightened mental alertness. Hypnosis is an old word used to describe a natural state that people enter everyday. |

The human mind is divided into the conscious mind, which is associated with the left side of the brain and the subconscious mind, referred to as the unconscious mind as well, is associated with the right side of the brain. The mind is the brain in action. Our mind is like an iceberg; the conscious mind is the tip of the iceberg, approximately 10%, and the subconscious mind is the part underneath the water, about 90%.
The conscious mind is governed by the left side of the brain. It is the mind that uses reason and logic to focus upon things, to differentiate them, to decide if something is good or bad, real or unreal, acceptable or unacceptable and so on. It is the seat of our critical faculties, the place of acceptance or non-acceptance of incoming information. The conscious mind is switched on during waking hours, but it is not in a constant state. Its level of alertness can vary between 100% down to minimal functioning, according to the level of environmental stimulation we encounter. In hypnosis we create the conditions for the conscious, critical mind to drift towards sleep, so the subconscious mind accepts the incoming suggestions. The subconscious mind - or unconscious mind - is governed by the right side of the brain. It is predominantly visual and regulates the Autonomic Nervous System, which regulates the involuntary functions of the body. It is a constant during life, is always working, is the motor of the brain, the microprocessor that's powering the neocortex. It is guiding the activity of the entire body: the breathing, blood flow, production of cells, chemical reactions, and so on. It is where our behavior patterns, habits, and the implicit memory - meaning the non-declarative memory - resides, all of which guide our behavior, reactions, attitude, our personality. It is the seat of our belief system and of our emotions, and is also called the heart of our mind. It is the realm of our imagination and creativity.

TESTIMONIALS:

Before I had the session I used to smoke an average of 15 cigarettes per day, for 40 years. Over the years I had tried to quit smoking, with no success. I felt like smoking was just a part of my life. I lost my sight 20 years ago and felt like smoking was one of the pleasures I enjoyed and never thought I could give it up for good.
I had my session in September 2007, and since that time I have not found it necessary to have a cigarette nor had any craving for one. When I went to have my session, I expected a lot of "Hocus Pocus", and fact I was very skeptical. I have Retinitis Pigmentosa, I have been legally blind for 20 years. When I was to be hypnotized, I actually told my daughter that I did not think that it would work because of my blindness, but I was willing to try anything to stop smoking for my family. Instead what I found was that Jennifer spoke to my imagination and painted a wonderful guided imagery experience. The whole process took around an hour and a half. One half hour in assessing my smoking habit, the next hour being the hypnotic process, which was quite pleasurable. I now have replaced my nasty smoking habit with guided imagery. I have learned to use my imagination to take a mental vacation instead of ruining my health by smoking. I want to thank my daughter Jennifer for saving my life. ~ Gloria Sanborn, Seattle, WA |

I am now 39 years old, and I used to smoke 30 cigarettes per day. I successfully stopped smoking 6 months ago.
I started smoking when I was 19 years old, and for the past 20 years I have tried many times to stop smoking, but I couldn't. Then I came across"MSCP" I made my call, and decided to give it a go. The day I was hypnotised was a new start for me. There was a little bit of will power involved at first, but by following the strategies I was given during the session, I found I just couldn't go wrong. I feel so good, and so happy to now be a non- smoker. I have finally achieved my goal. I can honestly recommend this method to anyone who genuinely wants to stop smoking. ~ Tyson Wine, Carlsbad, CA |

"I wanted to stop smoking and had tried numerous methods. I heard of "MSCP" method through a friend who had used it and had succeeded in quitting.
I was apprehensive about being hypnotized in the respect of whether it would work for me or not. The first two days after the session I was very emotional and felt that I had lost a friend but didn't feel like lighting up a smoke - a mild craving but that was it. With the strategies that Jennifer had given me I was able to use them when a little craving came and coped with it. For a person nearly smoking a packet a day I could cope with it - I felt great and feel great. It is exactly 11 months since my session and I am a Non-smoker. I only wished I had known about this type of hypnotherapy years ago instead of wasting my money on other ways of quitting smoking. I'd recommend to anyone wanting to give up smoking to give it a go - you really can't loose anything except a horrible habit." ~ Carrie White, Oceanside, CA |

I have no hesitation in recommending Jennifer to any person wishing to stop smoking. I have recommended a number of my friends all of whom to date have also been able to stop smoking and are quite grateful to Jennifer for her help.
" I must admit that when I approached Jennifer to help me stop smoking, I was a little skeptical and somewhat worried about what the process would be like. The session was fantastic. Right through the whole process, Jennifer told me exactly what was going to happen and what I could expect to experience. The closest thing that I can relate to being in a hypnotic state is a very relaxing meditation. You are totally aware of what is happening at all times, and when you finish it feels like you have just had the best sleep ever and you are ready to take on the world. The hypnotic process gave me the additional willpower I needed to stop smoking. To this day I still have not had a cigarette. I would recommend Jennifer to anyone who wants to stop smoking." It's the best $200.00 I have ever spent. ~ Mariah Wine, Seattle, Wa |
